在“英语语法网”看到李翔老师的《I don’t hope so 是正确的吗》一文（见www.yygrammar.com/Article/201108/2530.html），文中对I don’t hope so 的正确性问题进行了正反两方面的探讨，其中有的词书认为该表达是正确的，也有的词书认为该表达是不正确的。

本人在《纽约时报》（The New York Times）的搜索框中输入“I don’t hope so”，找到了以下三个实例（其中的I don’t hope so 为笔者加粗显示）：

例1 ...the word communist and what it means in Cuba is impossible to describe in a letter, you ought to live here--I don't hope so--to understand me better. ...（December 3, 1980）

例2  "I won't say I don't hope so too," he replied. "But if it's not, it's not. Today has been great, but I've got to take everything in stride. ...（June 16, 1998 - By Samuel Abt）
